Activities Peru, Rafting and Adventure Tour Company is owned and operated by two locally born and raised guides: Luis (Lucho) Vizcarra Manzaneda , and his younger brother Frank.
While rafting is their number one passion, as natives of the Cusco area, they are extremely proud of their heritage and South America's premier tourist attraction, MachuPicchu and the Inca Trail. Both have guided extensively on the famed Inca Trail - and can also take you to Machu Pichu on trails less travelled, as the Incas had many roads leading there.
They would have to be two of the most knowledgeable, articulate and passionate guides operating from Cusco; in fact Frank completed his degree in tourism at the local University in Cusco, specializing in the history of the area.
Lucho has been river guiding since 1998, with Frank starting 3 years later. Both brothers have considerable experience on their local rivers, but have extended their knowledge and abilities by working in the industry year round, with Lucho initially working various rivers in Brasil, and both spending considerable time guiding in the USA for Colorado's number one outfitter, Timberline Tours of Vail, on ten different river sections.
Timberline Tours brings some of the best guides from around the World to offer their clients the highest standards in the industry, something Activities Peru Rafting and Tours company emulates and tries to surpass.
The US experience has been invaluable in working with such skilled boatmen including the US National Rafting Team, and guides from New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Zimbabwe, as well as working on what is also considered one of the three most difficult commercial runs in the country; Gore Canyon of the upper Colorado River.
The opportunity to work in the US, was also the opportunity to outfit the company with the best and newest equipment - from rafts to paddles, helmets to p.f.d.s(lifejackets), paddle splash-jackets to wetsuits and booties - it is all the latest and best gear that can be found in the USA.
The brothers are passionate about what they do - whether you find them rafting their local rivers, guiding the ancient Inca trails, or Snow boarding in Beaver Creek and Vail´s slopes in Colorado between seasons - they are amongst the very best.
